During the school year, i.e. from late August through early June, JVA sponsors a weekly open gym for "power" volleyball. It's held each Sunday starting at 5:00 PM at the Juneau-Douglas High School Auxiliary Gym. JVA members, JDHS players, and JBVC players are welcome to attend. Division 1 level players who are new to the area, or who are simply passing through, are also welcome to attend. If you are new to Juneau and unsure if your skill level is appropriate for JVA, feel free to drop by the open gym and observe.

There is no fee for a new or visiting player to attend. If you're a Juneau resident who plans to keep attending, however, you'll need to become a JVA member.
